Khushhali Microfinance Bank, Pakistan’s forerunner microfinance Bank and IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, have signed an agreement whereby IFC will help the Bank develop a housing finance product, targeting primarily the underserved and rural communities of Pakistan. Housing remains a dire need in Pakistan where an estimated 20 million people are homeless according to the UN. This situation has been compounded over the years through the occurrences of natural disasters such as earthquakes and floods.

9TH ANNUAL ASSEMBLY OF PAKISTAN MICROFINANCE FORUM HELD

The 9th annual assembly of Pakistan Microfinance Forum was held on November 26, at the Ramada Hotel in Islamabad, hosting experts and operational chiefs who spoke with the stakeholders of the industry and discussed the sector's future strategy.

The central theme of this year's forum was "Time to move forward from Regulations to Actions". The purpose was to generate innovative ideas which can help in bringing necessary changes in the economic situation of Pakistan and empower the human capital.
